X-ray Mutagenesis on Poppy12/22/19I exposed a large number of poppy seed from my collection from breadseed poppies that I've grown in the past. The supply was settled at 3v and the duration was about 3 minutes. 01/11/20Some germination maybe spotted, I'm tempted to try and setup a macro time-lapse out there. 01/20/20Here's a picture of one of the little guys: 1/24: not too much more germination or growth apparent, nothing looks mutated yet either. 03/04/20Nothing too exciting to report besides it looks like a snail got one of my prized mutants, but it looks like there might be some interesting ones that will make it to flowering. I planted a patch of unexposed seeds to have a control as well. Here's a pic from 2/18: 05/09/20It looks like only one poppy survived: There were two... but the smaller one just disappeared... might be a little shop of horrors thing going on here. Tags: xray |
